Mini Vacation Day 1

This weekend we decided to take a mini vacation with Ed's parents. Saturday we woke up early and headed out to Pomona for an RC Expo that Ed just had to go to. Actually, this is pretty much the reason he took leave when he did, he had to go to this or his life would have ended. He spent the whole morning and afternoon there with his dad, meeting his "RC heroes." He was so excited and couldn't wait to tell me about everyone he had met, the things he saw, and the toys he bought. While they were there, Ed's mom, Layla and I did what we do best, SHOPPING! We had a lot of fun but I don't think it even compared to how much fun Ed had! When we went to pick them up at the Expo, he had the biggest smile on his face and was all giddy.
After that we drove to our hotel in Long Beach. The weather was so beautiful! It was dinner time and Ed wanted Chinese food so we plugged it in to the GPS and found a yummy place. We got huuuge amounts of food though and didn't end up eating it all so Ed and his mom made up a plate for a bum that was next to our car. When Ed went to deliver the food, she took one look at it and said no. She wanted beer, not food! LOL Oh well, we threw that container away and had plenty more leftovers. Layla had been dying to go to the beach so we went searching to find one. We found a perfect little place that was just right for Layla to run around and find a few seashells. It started getting cold and windy though so we only stayed for a bit. Layla was so happy though!
And to end the night off right, we got to visit with my best high school friend, Candace. We haven't seen each other in years! She lives in Long Beach and as soon as I found out that's where we were going, I called her and told her we had to meet up! It was so nice to see her and catch up, we'll definitely be doing that more often now.
