Layla's birthday fun!

On Tuesdays we almost always go to Ed's parent's house and hang out with them. You should see the way they play together, it's too cute. Well it just so happened that Layla's birthday fell on a Tuesday this year so Ed's dad took off of work so that we could all go to Chuck E Cheese together. We went to the grocery store first and I let Layla pick out the cake she wanted, she picked chocolate, she must take after her mother. We met Ed's parents and his brother Johnny there and just had a great time. Layla was really into riding all the cars, she liked that more than anything so we didn't win many tickets this time (if Daddy would have been here, it would be a different story!) but she had a blast. Pizza and games, what more could a little princess want?
After Chuck E Cheese we went back to their house for some birthday cake! We sang Layla happy birthday which she wasn't too thrilled about (she gets embarrassed easily) and then she dug in. It is so funny to me that she can make such a big mess with just one piece of chocolate cake. How did she get it on her forehead? Crazy girl.
Present time! Ed's parents are waiting to give her their big present at her birthday party (I've seen it and trust me, she'll LOVE it) so they got her something small to open today. Pink walkie talkies! Layla's teachers at school use walkie talkies so she always pretends she has some so she was thrilled to get some real ones. Her and grandpa played the rest of the day with them.
It was getting late so we went home and when we got home, grandma was there waiting for Layla with a cookie monster cupcake and a happy birthday balloon. Layla had a great birthday and is now officially 4 years old. But, it's not over yet, on the 27th of this month she'll have her big circus birthday bash! We can't wait!
