Spiders and the letter S

The letter of the week at Layla's preschool this week is S, so I decided to incorporate that into our Tuesday crafts. The first thing that came to mind was spiders, lots of fun things to do that are centered around that. First, we colored spiders (printed them off on poster board, then glued them to a popsicle stick) and then glued brown pom poms on them. It was a fun little craft that Layla loved.

After that we made spiderwebs! Very messy spiderwebs but very fun spiderwebs. I had cooked spaghetti noodles the night before so that they would be nice and cool when we were ready to play with them. We dipped each noodle into a bowl of glue and then laid it out on wax paper to make one big spiderweb. Layla ended up making a "cage spiderweb" so hers was just a straight line. After the glue dried, we peeled the noodles off the wax paper and had ourselves a real spiderweb!

After our crafts it was snack time. So what better to eat than a spider?! They were cute and tasty and made Layla laugh.

These are the days that I am so thankful I am able to be a stay at home mom and get to experience all of this with her. I couldn't even imagine having to work and not getting to see this beautiful smile throughout the day. Love my little princess.
