One of the things Layla misses most about Germany (other than Daddy, of course) is the rain and snow. She was born in Germany so her whole life, all she's known is the rain. When November came she was so excited because winter was here but then she asked me why it wasn't cold like Germany. Poor thing loves the cold and is stuck here in the extreme heat of the desert. The last few days, however, it has been raining like crazy. I think this is the first time since we've been here that it's actually rained. Layla has been so excited about using her umbrella and jumping in puddles. As soon as it started sprinkling, you better believe we were outside. But now that it has been pouring constantly, it has even been more fun. The minute she woke up this morning she wanted to go outside and play but I made her relax a bit and eat breakfast before we started out on that adventure. She had so much fun running around with her umbrella! We even found some worms and escorted them to dry land; Layla loved that they "tickled" her hand. It was a fun morning in the fresh (cold and rainy! Ick!) air and I'm sure we'll be back out there this afternoon after lunch.
