Today Layla and I went with a couple friends to the Asian Markets in Czech just to "check" it out, get it, get it? Haha! Anyway, it was a lot of fun and we ate some really good Chinese food. The majority of stuff they have there is knock off name brand purses like Coach, Versace, Burberry, Prada, etc. I didn't buy any though because I thought they looked kind of cheap and totally fake. But it was fun to walk around and look at everything while Layla slept the whole entire time! Layla ended up with 2 purse, a necklace, and a wallet. Wow, what a surprise, I buy Layla everything and nothing for me! I am definitely going to make Ed go back with us one of these days though, I know he'll get a kick out of it.
Ed had staff duty last night so he told me to have Layla ready by 7:50am so we could go to her 8:00am dentist appointment. I ended up falling asleep in her bed with her last night and the next thing I heard was the door closing and Ed running into Layla's room saying "Get up! We have to go!" Oops! LOL! Anyway, we got ready the fastest we have ever gotten ready before and headed to the dentist. They had Layla sit on my lap and then lay her head on the dentist's lap to look and count her teeth. She screamed, and screamed, and screamed, and screamed some more! She was NOT happy! They brushed her teeth and then counted them, which she has all of her baby teeth now (until she turns 6 and gets those molars) and has no cavities. Then they gave her the tooth brush and gave her a toy fish for being a good girl (which she totally wasn't a good girl but they were being nice) and she has been brushing the fish's teeth all day. I'm glad that is over with and that everything is just fine, now I don't have to worry about those teeth! :)
Today I went to go get my hair colored and while we were there I had the lady cut Layla's hair too. She has never had it cut before so it was very uneven and messy so I just had her cut the ends off so it would be even. Layla loved it and kept saying "Look at my Princess hair!" and "I'm getting Montana hair!" She had a great time and now her hair looks MUCH better!
This morning Ed and Layla were at the coffee table eating breakfast. Layla wanted to watch Blue's Clues so Ed put it on and then a couple of minutes later he changed the channel to look at football. Well Layla was not happy, she did not want to watch football. She went over to him, grabbed the remote and told him "You ruined my Blue's Clues! This is DUMB!" and tried to change the channel back. They are already playing remote wars and she is only 2 1/2.
It's no secret that Layla is spoiled rotten, she gets whatever she wants, whenever she wants it. So her new thing is, when something is broken or gone she just tells me, "ok, we'll go buy more today!" and expects me to drop whatever I'm doing to go to the store so we can get more of whatever it is. This morning it was chocolate milk.
Layla grunting and trying to open the fridge.
Me: "I'll open it, Layla."
Layla: "I want chocolate milk."
Me: "Layla, we don't have anymore chocolate milk. It's all gone."
Layla: "Please, Mama?"
Me: "Layla, it is impossible for me to give you chocolate milk right now. We don't have any!"
Layla: "Ohhhh, ok. We'll go buy more today!" And then she trots off to do something else.
Can I just say that singing with plastic cups as microphones and dancing along to Camp Rock is my favorite thing to do with Chunky. We put on a great show for Daddy tonight!
Today was freezing outside! It turned from hot to freezing over night. Layla is used to being naked around the house and when we went on our balcony tonight even she ran inside to get some slippers. She never does that! Anyway, she was sitting on the patio furniture with her princess blanket wrapped around her and her slippers from Holland. She looked to cute and comfy!
Ed has been home a few hours and Layla has already been terrorizing him!
I ended up sleeping with Layla last night in her bed and this morning this was our conversation.
Layla shaking me (I was still asleep): "Honey, wake up!"
Me: "Uhhhhh!"
Layla: "It's not dark outside anymore, honey. Wake up."
Me: "Is it morning now?"
Layla: "GOOD MORNING!"
Me: "Good morning, sweetie."
Layla: "I want to see Grandma!"
Me: "Is that what Grandma used to tell you every morning?"
Layla: "Uhh huh, Grandma hold me!"
When Ed was deployed and we were living at my mom's, she would come in and say good morning to Layla every day. I guess when Layla said good morning it made her think of her Grandma! She misses her so much.
Layla is still such a tiny little munchkin, she can't reach much up high yet. So, now every where she goes around the house she pushes her chair right along with her (it's a princess chair that goes with her desk). For instance, she pushes her chair to the DVD shelf and then stands on the chair and gets her own movie while yelling at me saying "I'M GOING TO PICK OUT A MOVIE!!!" I don't get to do anything for her anymore!
Lately Layla has been getting such an imagination. She has been playing with her dolls, Little People, stuffed animals, etc. and talking for them and to them, it's really cute. Well right now she is talking to the wall! It is dark and the light is on, she looked up at the ceiling and said "Ew. Ugly guy!" I asked her where the ugly guy was and she said, "Up there, on the wall!" The lights are making a shadow so I guess it looks scary to her. So now she keeps talking to the "ugly guy" and telling him to "go away" and "no ugly guy, it's MY apple purse!" It's so funny the stuff she comes up with.
Layla reminds me so much of me, it makes me laugh. She has my personality totally, especially because she is so impatient. The other day she was sitting in her car seat while we went to the mail room. I didn't buckle her in because we live 2 seconds away so she always tries to buckle herself in. Well as I was driving I hear this big grunt and sigh from the back then I hear her start yelling and saying "I HATE this car seat!!!" Gee, where do you think she got that one from?
Today Layla went outside with her bike and she can finally peddle! She has been riding her bike, walking with her feet so now she can actually ride it right. She had so much fun going up and down the street, she goes fast, I can't keep up with her anymore.
Tonight Layla had her first movie theater experience, we went to see Kung Foo Panda. As soon as we got there I had Layla go pick out what kind of candy she wanted (she got chocolate covered raisins), a small popcorn and a Sprite. She had no idea what was going on, she was getting all this junk food plus getting to see a movie! She was in Heaven! Anyway, we had a really good time and I am going to start taking her when ever there is a good kid movie playing.
Also, she said the funniest thing which totally reminded me of me! When you're at a movie on post, at the beginning you have to stand up while the Star Spangled Banner plays. Well I told Layla to just stay sitting down while I stood. As soon as I stood up and the patriotic video and music started playing, Layla blurts out "This is DUMB! Sit down, Mom!" It was so funny, I couldn't stop laughing.
Today we went to Megaplay with Shell and Evan. It was nice to get out of the house and have some fun. Layla had a ton of fun! We stayed there for about 4 hours and Layla could have stayed for another 4 if I would have let her. She mostly played in the baby section though because there were a lot of older kids there today. I am sure we'll be going back again soon!
This is Layla's new word, well it isn't that new but she calls me "honey" all the time now. She must have picked it up from me calling her that. She'll be in her bedroom and yell "Honey, come on!" or ask me "Honey, are you ok?" LOL
So today Layla and I were watching a movie. I have a horrible habit of biting my nails, so I started munching away on them when Layla hits my hand out of my mouth and says "Stop it Mom! Don't bite yourself!" She's looking out for me!
