Aquarium & Butterfly Pavilion

I have been wanting to check out the Denver Aquarium since we got here and today we finally had the chance. I wanted to make sure and go before Ed left us so that he could have some fun with us! Our good friends have season passes and offered to let us use them, or try to use them anyway. We didn't know if they would work but turns out they did! Not only were we able to get in for free but with the season passes you're able to do a lot more fun activities for free like games, face painting, and feeding the sting rays. We were very grateful that the let us use them. We stayed at the Aquarium for a few hours, looking at all the amazing fish and sea creatures. They even had mermaids there! I thought Layla would have been more excited to see them since she calls herself a mermaid but she was being shy. We had such a great time, it was definitely worth the drive up to Denver to check it out! Since we were in the Denver area and still had a good chunk of the day left I suggested we head on over to the Butterfly Pavilion. When googling about things to do in Denver one day, I ran across the Butterfly Pavilion and since Layla was learning about caterpillars and butterflies in class that week, it was the perfect time to go. We have been to a few other places like this, one being in Luxembourg and they are always a hit. Layla loves seeing and illegally touching all the butterflies. It's always fun to try and get them to land on your hand. Ed was a sweating mess in the humid room and Layla's cheeks started to turn bright red but we still had a really good time. The butterflies were just beautiful and we even got some to land on us! Layla loved it, it was so worth hitting that up on our way home. We'll definitely be making a trip back up that way for some more fish and butterfly fun this summer!
